Hello all,
Went up onto the Squaw Peak road to do some hawk watching today. When Grant
and I got there at about 10:45 Milt, Lynn and Bryan were already there. Me
and Grant stayed to about 2:45. I counted 90 raptors while I was there.
Add two that were seen before I got there and we had 92.
26 Coopers Hawks, 12 Sharp-shinned Hawks, 22 other 'Accipiters' (some were
too far away to identify, some I didn't get a good look at because there
were a few going by at the same time and Many I got a good look at but
wasn't confident in my identification), at least 5 probably 6 Golden Eagles,
22 Red-tailed Hawks, 2 Swainson's Hawks, 1 Merlin and 1 Northern Harrier.
Also in the area were Mt. Bluebirds, WT Swifts, Swallows, Chickadees, YR
Warblers, Steller's Jays, Scrub-Jays and Juncos.
