I have already seen Spotted Towhee and White-crowned Sparrows in my yard which is very early.? Perhaps, we will all remember the great winter of 07-08 years later and the early warning signs that we saw.

Jack et. all,

This morning as I left my house in the Sugarhouse area, I added two new species
to my yard list. First a flock of 6 CASSIN'S FINCH flew over heading south.
Secondly, and in relation to Jack's post as larger flock, of 11 PINE SISKIN
flew over.

Based off Rick's comments about Red-breasted Nuthatch a few weeks back, and the
number of sightings of mountain species at low elevations already, I believe it
is just one of those years. Several times in the last couple weeks I have seen
and/or heard Cassin's Finch and Pine Siskin near the south shore of the Great
Salt Lake, and with your sightings and those from up north it all seems to fit

Cheers
