Dear Birder Friends:

Celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week with us! On Saturday, September 15
we'll have our annual fall open house from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the
Wildlife Education Center at Bear River Refuge.

10:00am & 2:00pm - Waterfowl Identification will be offered. Refuge staff
will present images for discussion. Hand-outs available. Stickers for the
kids!

11:00am - Learn about Cornell Lab of Ornithology's Citizen Science Projects
you can take part in - several are good family activities. Presented by
Keith Evans and Jack Rensel.

1:00pm - Take a "Virtual Bird Tour" of Utah with Tim Avery. Combining
birding and photography, Time will take you on a "virtual" tour of his
travels around Utah over the past year.

1:30pm to 3:30pm - Project "Leave No Trace" training will be offered. This
is an educational program designed to provide information, materials and
support for youth and youth leaders interested in the ethics and skills
fundamental to "Leave No Trace" outdoor recreation. Presented by Forest
Service, Utah DWR and Fish & Wildlife Service staffs. You must
pre-register for this training with Kathi Stopher by calling 435.734.6436.

10:00am & 1:00pm - Guided refuge tours by car caravan will be offered -
each lasting about 2 1/2 hours.

Celebrate the life of Rachel Carson - learn more about her through Sense of
Wonder activities you can do with your children. Free Posters!

See a poster on our web site (link below) for detailed information on
activities and times they're offered. We hope to see you on September
15th! If you would like more information, please call us at 435.723.5887,
