Started Sunday out in Orem trying for the Red-necked Grebe, there were two birders there (didn't get their names) and they told me that the grebe was dead, took a look at it anyways. Then called Tim so he could pass on the news.
Getting back on I-15 a Merlin did a really close fly by over the on ramp. We had seen 8 Red-tailed Hawks before leaving Utah county. So I decided to keep track. Had my first Rough-legged Hawk of the season 3 miles from the Mona Exit. A Dark Morph Red-tailed just past Scipio.

After we got to Quail Creek Res. we spent about 1 hour scanning for the Jaeger.
We found a Common Loon, Common Tern. Mark Stackhouse showed up around 4pm. Not even 5 minutes went buy and Beth spotted the Jaeger accross the Res. I was close to the dam so we moved over to the dam overlook and walked close to the water. Got good looks at it for about 2 minutes before it few off and found it self a fish far from us.

  Target birds found.
