Continuing the trend of down-slope movements this year (but hopefully
still worth reporting?), I saw a flock of about 20 Red Crossbills on the
Utah State University campus in Logan, Cache County, yesterday morning
(October 26th). They flew across 800 E and landed in some trees just
north of the Newman Center (800 N). I also found a dead Mountain
Chickadee on campus last week that had presumably hit a window in the
skybridge above where I found it. The dead bird was collected and
donated to Dr. Kim Sullivan's ornithology class along with a Dark-eyed
Junco found dead in the same spot.
Sincerely,
Ryan
