Just got back from Washington County where a number of birders have been able to
see the beautiful juvenile LONG-TAILED JAEGER found by Rick on Thursday.
Perhaps we lucked out, but the Sommerfeld's, Kevin Wheeler and I missed his
female companions name, and I, had the bird come in and circle over the beach
we were on 3 or 4 times, in the end flying directly over us and then out over
the water again. We couldn't have asked for better looks at the bird!

And as far as we can tell the bird has been able to get food despite there being
NO gulls at Quail Creek. On Friday afternoon it managed to pick up a bluegill
that was floating on the surface, and spend a good 30+ minutes feeding on the
fish while we watched. The bird also appeared to be picking stuff off the top
of the water, but we couldn't tell what, if anything at all.

Cheers
