This afternoon Colby Neuman and I headed out to the causeway to try and relocate
the Sharp-tailed Sandpiper. We arrived just after 3:30pm and found Ned Bixler
watching the flats to the north of the first bridge. We stayed till about
5:30pm and did not observe the bird. However we did see a number of other good
birds, differing slightly in numbers form what Kris reported this morning. The
sheer number of birds and the amount of movement throughout the day means that
the possibility for new or different birds is present every hour of the day.

Number of species: 28

 150 Black-bellied Plover - Pluvialis squatarola
   4 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER - Pluvialis dominica
 250 Killdeer - Charadrius vociferus
   4 Black-necked Stilt - Himantopus mexicanus
1000 American Avocet - Recurvirostra americana
   3 Willet - Tringa semipalmata
3 Marbled Godwit - Limosa fedoa
   2 SANDERLING - Calidris alba
20 Western Sandpiper - Calidris mauri
  15 Baird's Sandpiper - Calidris bairdii
21 PECTORAL SANDPIPER - Calidris melanotos
1000 Long-billed Dowitcher - Limnodromus scolopaceus
250 American Pipit - Anthus rubescens
