Checking the radar last night it looked like there was a good movement of birds
following the passing of the front. I hoped this would bring somewhat of a
fallout to the IC today and headed out around 11:00 to take a look. Warbler
numbers were down considerably form a week ago. In fact I didn't see a single
Yellow-rumped Warbler, I only heard two. On the other hand there were 2
Orange-crowned and 2 MacGillivray's hanging out along the canal on the north
side of the Unisource building (a usual hangout for these species). And yet
another TOWNSEND'S WARBLER was seen at the very south end of Lindebergh on the
east side of the road.
A sure sign of fall and probably a good portion of migrants right now, were over
500 Dark-eyed Junco. It seemed like there were junco's on every corner, in
every tree, and under every bush.
