I stopped by Rockport Reservoir yesterday to see if I could find the
Herring Gull Kristin reported recently. Sorry to say that the gull was
nowhere to be found. (Probably at the Summit County Landfill, eh Kris?)

The trip was definitely worthwhile, however. First of all, a Peregrine
Falcon was chowing down on a gull (too small to be the Herring - a
California, no doubt) with feathers flying everywhere in the wind. Quite
entertaining.

The other interesting sighting was a group of three peeps hanging out with
a big flock of gulls on the shore of the southwest corner of the
reservoir. They looked to me like Baird's, but I'd be interested in other
opinions if anyone else gets up that way.
