I had to pick some photos up from Bear River MBR this morning, so I used the
afternoon to bird around Mantua, Willard, and Farmington on the way home. I
spent some time driving around Mantua checking all the spruce and pine looking
for some seed eaters. Surprisingly, NONE were seen, in fact the only songbirds
seen around town were a single House Sparrow and a flock of Starlings. I
decided to do a quick scan of Mantua Reservoir. There were 17 GREATER SCAUP
near the dam.
At Willard Pond (the pond just north of Willard Bay), there was a flock of 8
REDHEAD.
Glover Lane was pretty un-birdy. 6 Red-tailed Hawks were around as well as 1
Rough-legged were the majority of the birds.
Cheers
