I birded the Antelope Island Causeway and Garr Ranch on Antelope Island,
plus the points between, with Stephanie Cobbold and Sarah Mohlman on
Saturday afternoon. We started around 11:30 and ended around 3:30.
Most of the birds we saw have already been reported by other birders,
but I've included our complete list below anyways. Highlights were the
same as others' for the most part, including SURF and WHITE-WINGED
SCOTERS (we couldn't find the black scoter), BONAPARTE'S GULLS (couldn't
find any Sabine's), LONG-TAILED DUCKS, a MARBLED GODWIT, and TUNDRA
SWANS. A few I haven't seen reported lately, but nothing too
remarkable, included a NORTHERN SHRIKE, a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, and a
HERMIT THRUSH at Garr Ranch. Here is our complete list of 33 species
seen, in the order we saw them:

Ring-billed gull
California gull
Marbled godwit
American kestrel
Canada goose
Tundra swan (7)
Mallard
Northern pintail
American wigeon
Gadwall
Common raven
Northern shoveler
Green-winged teal
American avocet
Bonaparte's gull
Eared grebe (thousands)
Amerian pipit (a dozen or so)
Long-tailed duck (five in one scope view, total 7+)
Surf scoter (2 in one view, total 3+)
White-winged scoter (1+)
Lesser scaup
Rough-legged hawk (1)
Northern shrike (1 on the road to Garr Ranch)
Black-billed magpie
Amerian robin
Red-winged blackbird
Northern flicker
European starling
Hermit thrush (I didn't get great looks, but some birders on the
causeway told me this one's been around the ranch for the last few
weeks)
Dark-eyed junco
Common goldeneye
Chukar
Killdeer (133 counted in one pool with the godwit).

Sincerely,
Ryan
