This morning about 10:00 I spotted a group of about 100 bonaparte gulls
near the west end of the causeway about !/4 mile east of the large
cement bridge. They were feeding in the stream of water that empties
water from the south side to the north. What a great sight!. I met
Cal Robins from South Ogden observing the same group and he pointed out
a single gull which turned out to be a immature Sabine. We observed it
feeding for about 10 minutes. Then the whole group flew up and made
several turns in front of us and it was easy to spot the Sabine with
the distinctive triangular patch of white on the back of the wings.
I continued over to Lady Finger point and found several rock wrens, a
loggerhead shrike and several chukars.
