[Birdtalk] Baby Quail

Just wanted to add my piece to the group today. I have been having to  
rely on my feeders for birding as of late but had a nice treat with  
five newly hatched quail chicks scurrying about with both male and  
female parents watching protectively every step of the way. At one  
point, the female was brooding them for a rest. It's amazing how large  
she can make herself to cover all the chicks at the same time. As she  
moved off it showed that she was really standing over them, but  
allowing her body feathers to nearly touch the ground. Birds are  
amazing parents!

I too will try to post more often, I really enjoy everyone's observations too!
