Dick and I casually birded several campgrounds in the Uintas east of Mirror Lake, which was still frozen, on Saturday. Saw lots of Wilson's Warblers, some gorgeous Audubon's Warbler males, a pair of Cassin's Finches (the 8 or so that have been in my yard since April 3rd finally departed on May 25), 3 Spotted Sandpipers, a beautiful singing Lincoln's Sparrow, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Downy, Red-naped Sapsucker, Red-tailed Hawk, and a pair of Turkey Vultures investigating a deer roadkill. It was great to be out and the campgrounds on that side of Bald Mtn pass were not heavily used.
