This morning I spent a few hours up Big Cottonwood Canyon with three birders
from Virginia, John and Caroline Coe, and Greg (sorry I forgot your last name).
 We had some fairly good luck and got to see a lot of birds. There is still a
bit of snow around Silver Lake, and many of the aspen aren't yet showing
leaves. Highlights included a calling NORTHERN GOSHAWK in the private housing
north of the lake; 4 Fox Sparrows around the lake; 1 singing Swainson's Thrush;
and American Dipper near Storm Mountain, and about 6 White-throated Swifts in
the same area.
