This evening my wife and I saw Bobolinks in the field on the north side of the road at 600 South and about 2000 West (also known as the Mendon Road which connects Logan and Mendon). The field is just before the bridge if you are heading west. The birds fly from the field up to the fence and are mostly seen on far northern fence. Also perched up on the fence were Western and Eastern Kingbirds. In the brush near the bridge we saw a Gray Catbird. Normally when I read emails about catbirds the word "skulking" is used. I guess that word best describes how stays in the shadows and rarely shows itself. In past years I've seen Willow Flycatchers in the same thicket, but not today.
Thanks.
Buck Russell
