Message: This morning Steve and I started our day at Bear River. We saw 63 different species. Notable species were, Sora, Blue-winged Teal, Great Egret, and Snowy Plover. Around 2:30 we ventured to the area west of Willard Bay. On the way in we didn't see much. On the driveway to the Harold Crane WMA we saw a couple Snowy Plovers and an Eastern Kingbird.(Year Bird) We drove further north until we came to water. TERNS everywhere. Steve counted 200+ BLACK TERNS, at least as many Forsters' and at least 50 Caspians. There were also approximately 400 Dowitchers. We searched for a Common Tern, but they were just far enough away that it was difficult. We continued north and found the shore lined with Snowy Egrets, Cattle Egrets, and Ibis for as far as the eye could see. A great time to study the difference between the two Egrets.Remember "It's going to be a bummmpy ride."
