Kris,
I read an article that gave a good idea concerning removal of ticks. Take along a roller with masking tape on it, the kind usually used for lint removal, and you have an instant tacky grab stick. Roll it up and down your pant legs etc. every so often. It is small and easy to pack along with you on day trips. You can buy these at most supermarkets!

I hoped this past winter's dry conditions would mean fewer ticks this spring, but I can't see that from this morning's results. I picked up three ticks on my pantlegs during an early morning hike through sagebrush country, so beware, sagebrush birders!

  Kris
