**************************************************************

Box Elder County:

-- The mixed flock of Snow and Ross's Geese in Corrine continued as of
March 20th and were most recently reported by MarJean Muhlstein. However
the flock size appears to have
diminished to around 7,000 birds with about 1 in 25 being a Ross's Goose.

Cache County:

-- The first Swainson's Hawk of the spring migration was reported by
Buck Russell at the Benson Marina on March 24th.

Daggett County:

-- 5 Gray-crowned Rosy Finches were reported by Merrill Webb at the
Lucerne Valley Marina on the shore of Flaming Gorge Reservoir on March 19th.

Davis County:

-- The two female Long-tailed Ducks continue to be seen at Antelope
Island Causeway and were most recently seen by Keith Evans and Jack Rensel
on March 23rd.

-- The first Cattle Egret of the season was reported by Carol Gwynn on
the ponds at the end of Glover Lane on March 24th.

Morgan County:

-- A single Common Loon was reported at East Canyon Reservoir by Joel
and Kathy Beyer on March 25th. Along with a bird at Rockport, this
represented the first sighting of the season.

Salt Lake County:

-- Around 60 Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch were reported by Tim Avery, Jayla
Burley, and Adrienne Burley (form New Hampshire) at The View
condominiums at Alta on March 23rd.

and Adrienne Burley (form New Hampshire) at The View condominiums at
Alta on March 23rd.

-- 3 Baird's Sandpipers were reported by Colby Neuman and Tim Avery on
private property in Salt Lake County on March 17th. This represents not
only an early arrival date for this species
in Utah, but also a rather rare spring migrant in the state. 2 of the
Sandpiper's remained on March 24th and were reported by Matt Mills who
was on a field trip on the property.

-- The first Snowy Plover of the season was reported by Matt Mills on
private property in Salt Lake County on March 24th.
