On the downside, it's a Red Crossbill. On the upside, it's published in
American Naturalist, a respected journal, and the results look solid.
So maybe the AOU will accept it someday . . .

The interesting thing is that this bird's range is just across the
border from Utah. In fact, the Albion Mountains mentioned in the
article are really just an extension of the Grouse Creek Mountains.
Certainly they must also occur in Utah, either in the Grouse Creeks or
the nearby Raft River Mountains.
