When I lived along Little Cottonwood Creek, I had a lot of bird
visitors.  One day I heard great racket outside.  There were about 8
Magpies crying over a dead Magpie under the eave of my garage. 
Evidently, Magpies are a bit like elephants mourning the loss of
their "tribe."   Marsha
