Message: My friend Susan and I had a good day today. We first went to Wellsburg to see the wild turkeys, I believe "Susie" got better digitals that I today as the lens I usually use is off getting repair (I hope).
Anyway, then we went to Deer Creek and were fortunate enough to see a pair of Cranes off from the other side of the road leading to Soldier Hollow. We then pulled off by the "Old Tate Barn" and walked down into the fields to check out a pair of Bald Eagles we spotted perched in a tree out there.
Susie took a trillion photos of the eagles, if something turns out to her liking, I'm certain she'll ask it be posted. While there we saw many varieties of ducks, heard geese and saw at least three killdeer and a hawk we didn't identify (Susie did take a photo of it, so that may yet come).
Otherwise, here at Starsun Ranch backyard habitat, we have had many Dark-eyed Juncos, some House finch, American Goldfinch and Chickadees, and a few Northern Flicker & Downy woodpeckers.
Happy Birding,
Michelle Soper
