[Birdtalk] the sage grouse are back

This morning I skied up to the lek I visit each spring near the Jordanelle 
Reservoir, and was entertained by a bunch of male sage grouse strutting 
their stuff for a (seemingly) disinterested group of females.  Spring is 
certainly here!

The bad news is that there were huge piles of dirt nearby where it appears 
that a subdivision is in the works.  Construction was apparently stopped 
for the winter, but it looks like another sage grouse lek is about to be 
displaced by human "progress".  Very sad!!
