Hi All,

After leaving the goose party at Corinne, I headed to the Promontory Point Road to see what might be out there. Birds weren't plentiful, but I did find a few new spring arrivals - new for me, that is. They were:

Yellow-headed Blackbird (8)
Say's Phoebe (3)
Rock Wren (2)
Lark Sparrow (1)
Long-billed Curlew (2)
Turkey Vulture (1)

There was quite a variety of waterfowl on several different ponds, although mostly just the normal duck species, and none were numerous. Lots of western meadowlarks, horned larks, red-winged blackbirds. Other species included:

Rough-legged Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk
Northern Harrier
Prairie Falcon
American Kestrel
Golden Eagle
Bald Eagle
Chukar
Ring-necked Pheasant
Black-billed Magpie & Common Raven (numerous)
Killdeer
Virginia Rail
Sora
Great Blue Heron
Loggerhead Shrike
Marsh Wren
Dark-eyed Junco
American Robin (abundant)
White-crowned Sparrow
Song Sparrow
House Finch
American Goldfinch
Pine Siskin

(Mourning Cloak butterflies - several)

No burrowing or short-eared owls were seen, but I was out there between 11:30am and 3:00pm.
