As one of the naturalist's at Farmington Bay I was able to go behind the gates today, down to the Turpin Unit. I had my sisters with me. There are many winter species still hanging around:
Bufflehead
Canvasback
Tundra Swans (many)
Scaup
No. Shoveler
Goldeneye
Bald Eagles (3)
Not a full list but fun anyway. There was one bird we were glad to see the return of, and first for the season:
Double-crested Cormorant (loner)
It was by the bridge going into the Turpin Unit. So keep your eyes pealed. I'm sorry I wasn't able to make the "Geese Party", maybe tomorrow?
