When writing about the "tame" blue jays in my yard, I was using "blue jay" to differentiate from Stellar's Jay. According to my Ken Kaufman bird guide, these are likely "Western Scrub Jays." I was too focused on enjoying their behavior to give a proper I-D. Just another excited amateur, Linda
