[Birdtalk] Snow Geese tagged with neck collars

Eric,

The band should be reported to Patuxent Bird Banding Lab. I just tried
to find the page and got the same error messages you did. It's probably
a server problem as I doubt that site will disappear. Try again another
day and see if they've fixed the problem. For what it's worth, I saw
two banded Snow Geese last spring and reported the collar numbers to
Patuxent. Both birds were Lesser Snow Geese, the expected race, and
both were banded in Northern Canada. I didn't keep my notes but I think
one had a black band. The report for the one with only letters in the
band "number" was banded in Nunavut, the other at Banks Island,
Northwest Territories.

I just noticed that there's a phone number for reporting bands on the
report they send out, 1-800-327-BAND.
