[Birdtalk] scrub jays

The scrubjays are the most abundant bird in my tree filled yard.  I have fed them peanuts for years.  They last no longer than 15 minutes.  The pile I put out on Thursday have not been touched and I have not seen any jays for awhile.  Is anyone aware of the disappearence of scrubjays and the reason (like West Nile virus)?
