[Birdtalk] Bear River Refuge Road will not be closed

Dear Birding Friends:

I was reminded the other day that I failed to send out a SECOND message
telling you all that the Bear River Refuge road project has been postponed
until next summer.  SO, the road to Bear River Refuge, and the auto tour
route, will be open this summer.  Construction is scheduled to begin next
spring, and the road will probably be closed in June, July and August,
2008.  We will likely be offering refuge tours behind the gates during that
time.  Stay tuned...

The project was delayed because Congress did not get the funds appropriated
for the bid process in a timely manner.  There wasn't sufficient time for
project advertisement, bids to be received, the contract awarded and the
work to be done before fall.
