Seeking a bit of respite from the heat we just spent 3 days camping at
Mirror Lake 9500' above sea level where it was actually a little chilly at times.
But it was pleasant to observe from our campsite (#63) the following birds:
    Pine Grosbeaks (several)
    Cassin's Finch (several)
    Yellow-rumped Warbler (several)
    White-crowned Sparrow (many)
    Pine Siskins (several)
Three-toed Woodpecker (working away flaking bark off a pine looking for
grubs)
Clark's Nutcracker (many... creating quite a racket)
    Northern Flicker
    Mountain Chickadee (several)
    Dark-eyed Junco (several)
    Robins (many)
California Gulls (on and over the nearby lake)

This was lazy birding! Hugh Gillilan
