[Birdtalk] Bald Eagle Day at Bear River

Utah Birders:

Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge will be hosting a "Bald Eagle Day" on
Saturday, January 20th.  YOU are invited to attend!  Programs will be held
in the Wildlife Education Center auditorium.  You MUST pre-register to
attend this event, by calling 435.723.5887.  Cost is $1.00 per person with
a max. of $5.00 per family.  The event is being hosted by the Friends of
Bear River Refuge.

SCHEDULE
At 10:30am Jen Hajj, HawkWatch International Education Director, will
present a program in the auditorium, entitled "Bald Eagle I.D. Made Easy
... or Not" where she will discuss the many different plumages bald eagles
go through as they grow up.

At 11:30am we'll take a 2-hour long guided car caravan tour to look for
eagles in the wild - and to practice I.D.  Destination will depend on where
eagles have been spotted recently.  Bring your own snacks if you wish, as
the tour will occur over the noon hour.  (Note:  food and beverages are not
allowed inside the wildlife education center).

At 2:00pm, Ted Steinke will present, "Eagles of the Great Salt Lake Region"
- showing his stunning images of bald eagles in a slide show in the
auditorium.

Also, we'll open a photographic exhibit of Ted's work that day.  Images
will hang in Classrooms A & B, and will be open to the public for several
weeks.

Directions to the center:  I-15 to Brigham City, take exit #363 (Forest
Street) and turn west.  The center is just one block west of I-15 on the
south side of Forest Street.  Wildlife Education Center hours are Monday -
Friday 8am to 5pm; Saturday 10:00am - 4:00pm.  We're closed on federal
