I love the sparrow quote from Thoreau, so thought I'd share the
wonderful poem about hummingbirds by Emily Dickinson, which so perfectly
conveys the essence of the way hummingbirds are there, and then gone.
A Route of Evanescence
With a revolving Wheel --
A Resonance of Emerald --
A Rush of Cochineal --
And every Blossom on the Bush
Adjusts its tumbled Head --
The mail from Tunis, probably,
An easy Morning's Ride --
--Emily Dickinson
