This afternoon I spent an hour at Lee Kay Ponds going through the gulls. I was unable to locate the Glaucous, Glaucous-winged or the two strange gulls from Saturday, but there were 3 first winter THAYER'S GULLS present, including one very light bird on the main pond. A dakrer individual was also on the main pond and another typical THGU was on the west pond. I've posted a couple shots of the bird form the west pond here:

Herring Gull numbers continue to dwindle, with only 2 - 1st winter, 1 - 2nd winter, and 2 adults being seen. It's an odd thing seeing as there were more than a hundred at this time a year ago. I would guess there were around 250 Ring-billed Gull today, and probably 1,700 California Gull out on the ice. Over the dump was a swirling flock of probably the same amount of gulls on the ponds...
Several Canvasback, Ring-necked Ducks, Ruddy Ducks, and Common Goldeneye were also present.
Good Birding
