I was pleasantly surprised to see an ash-throated flycatcher at River
Lane this morning (Su 8/26/2007, 8:30 am). Only seen one in Ut. county
before. It was in the russian olives on the south side of the river and
later on the north side of the road in the same vicinity. No luck on
warblers, though. Just a bunch of yellows and one Nashville. Other
species seen:
Gray catbird
Eastern and western kignbirds
Western tanager (many)
Warbling vireo
Northern mockingbird
Lazuli bunting (females and young)
Common nighthawk
Black-crowned night heron
Snowy egret
Chickadees etc.
Good birding - Tuula
