Hi Everyone,
For many years I lived on the edges of Dimple Dell Park in Sandy, and
saw Western Tanagers regularly in the summer, not so much at the
feeders, but certainly in the oak that surrounded our house. I
currently live about 1.5 miles NW from that earlier locale in a
neighborhood that sports homes nearing 30 years old. A Western Tanager
just flew through the feeder area, perched in the lower branches of a
tall pine tree; it looked up for several minutes, and then flew off.
It was so nice to see this brilliantly plumaged bird right outside my
window this afternoon.
