Hi Guys,
Well, we have all four back at our home in South Weber. The Calliope are so
small and so quiet compared to the more aggressive breeds. It is fun to
watch. We sat tonight and watched the "Dance of the Hummingbirds" at our
three feeders for a very restful, but not very quiet evening. :)
We still have juvenile Orioles visiting and they aren't intimidated by the
hummers or the hornets. We still have lots of juveniles doing the "feed me,
feed me" dance to the adults. The other day I heard a squeaking/squawking
and had no idea what it was, it turned out to be a pair of juvenile
Grosbeaks talking to each other. It was an interesting "conversational"
sound. It' a lovely time of the year.
Tomorrow I will forward a link of the picture my husband got of the male
Rufous. Such an amazing gorget.
Happy Birding!
Brenda
