The UCB are sponsoring a field trip this Saturday to the Capitol Reef
and Torrey areas. Previous notes have described lodging accommodations
for those of you who are planning on traveling down Friday night,
although there are also other overnight options available that you may
feel free to arrange on your own. While there are no formal activities
planned either for Friday or for Sunday, I invite you to make the trip
as long or as short as your schedule will permit.

The group will leave the Capitol Reef NP Visitor's Center at 8:00 a.m.
Saturday morning. This will give the birds time to wake up, the day a
chance to warm up, and those of you who would like to drive down early
Saturday morning a bit of a break. I anticipate that the field trip will
end some time between 4:00 p.m. and sunset, although you should feel
free to leave earlier if necessary. I expect most or all of the field
trip to be on paved or graded gravel roads. The weather gods appear - at
this time - to be smiling on us and we should enjoy a marvelous day
birding this seldom birded area of the state.

If you have questions please feel free to contact me but I suggest you
do so by email as I only check my answering machine on roughly an annual
basis, if at all.

Thanks,

Lu Giddings
