 Jim:

The Eurasian Collared Dove is not protected. I sit on the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) Regional Advisory Council (RAC). At our meeting this year regarding migratory doves, DWR recommended that these non native doves not be protected. The RAC voted as DWR recommended. Dove hunters were advised that any Eurasian Collared Doves they harvested, would not count toward the daily bag limit of Mourning Doves.

Subject: [Birdtalk] Eurasian Collared Dove Protected?

Is the Eurasian Collared Dove a protected species? Since it is another import, like the Starling, and apparently non migratory, I am wondering what its standings are legally. Jim http://donce.lofthouse.com/jamaica/nature/default.htm _______________________________________________
