Subject: Cassin's Finch Means Spring?

Email_Address: utecoot at att.net

Message: Strangely, a female Cassin's Finch was feeding in my yard in N. Ogden this morning. I haven't seen a Cassin's anywhere this winter, although we have had them in the yard in past years.

Also, I saw my first Broad-tailed Hummingbird and a couple of Chipping Sparrows yesterday on the bench in Ogden. There was also a Chipper in my yard last evening. This is at least 10 days earlier than I've seen a Broad-tailed and nine days earlier than I've seen a Chipper since I started keeping a record of first sightings seven years ago.
