Since Candy asked... I still have Rufous, Broad-tailed, Black-chinned, and
Calliope Hummingbirds coming to my feeders. Including an adult male
Broad-tailed which doesn't have any wing trill and an Immature Male Calliope
with a few red throat feathers growing in.
I looked through my records and here are my late dates for hummers in my
yard. (Pleasant Grove, Utah County, UT).
Rufous - Oct 3
Black-chinned - Oct 12
Broad-tailed - Oct 6
Calliope - Today - September 23 (previously sept 22, 2003)
They likely actually stay a little later.
You get a lot of great yard birds Candy. Keep reporting.

Subject: [Birdnet] Winter Wren at Dugway
Date: Fri, 22 Sep 2006 18:13:09 EDT
Hi again Utah birders.
I had to share another lifer today... my first Winter Wren arrived in the
front yard.
It was poking around the tires of my Jeep, while I watched it for 10
minutes.
This bird is also NOT listed on the Dugway Bird checklist.
It was sitting on my mailbox not 8 feet away from me a few seconds, then it
saw me and bolted under the car. How cool is that!!
I still have Black-chinned females and youngsters visitings...do you still
have hummers visiting (just curious how long to leave the feeders up for)??
Candy (at Dugway)
