Band-tailed Pigeons are no longer hanging around much, but two did just fly into front yard feeders. I never had as many pigeons this summer as in past years (At height of summer had as many as 12 at one time) and those that came didn't hang around as much. They've evidently found other yards to their liking. I see them flying out to the SW, so probably in the Cottonwood area. You're still welcome to try to see them. If not visible in trees or front yard, just knock on my door. Often the backyard view through our windows is your best bet. Address: 4527 S 2995 E; Holladay
New Yard Birds:
In late August I came home from a trip to find a White-winged Dove window kill. I was agast. I've never seen a live one in my yard before.
Thursday in the late afternoon little bit of sun we had, a MacGilvray's female in beautiful plumage sat for a minute right outside my window, giving me good looks. That was a great surprise.
Good birding to you all.
Deedee
