Spent a few hours this afternoon checking some of the "old reliable"
spots in southern Utah county. The Provo airport dikes were pretty
quiet. There were numerous pied-billed grebes, dark-eyed juncoes, coots,
and American goldfinches but no waterfowl were present, or at least none
were visible. There was still one western grebe and one Clark's grebe
out where they could be seen, although I heard other grebes calling from
the reeds. Salem pond and little Salem pond each had a pair of American
wigeon, and there was also a male and several female lesser scaup on the
little pond.
