I've seen a few fall and winter birds in the last few days. Today I saw a raft of over 50 ducks at Little Dell Reservoir in Salt Lake County; most were Ring-necks and two were Lesser Scaup.

East Canyon Reservoir in Morgan County produced four Common Loons, an adult Bald Eagle and a handful of Ring-necks.

I also saw my first Common Loon of the fall last Saturday at Strawberry Reservoir in Wasatch County. Many ducks and coots were at the mouth of the Strawberry River in the northeast inlet area of the reservoir. In addition to the expected dabblers, Common Mergansers, Canvasbacks, Scaup, Redheads and Ring-necks were present.
