While there was excitement in Ogden, Provo was dead this afternoon. I
drove the airport dike, took a swing through the state park, and visited
East Bay as the sun was setting. Very few birds were seen other than
coots and a smattering of ring-billed and California gulls. The best
birds of the afternoon were seven mourning doves in East Bay, a small
flock of American wigeon also in East Bay, a flock of four black-capped
chickadees on the airport dike, and a rooster and hen ring-necked
pheasant, also on the airport dike, trying to avoid the hunters in a
nearby field.
