Please see the Philadelphia Inquirer story below that details the state of Delaware's move to join New Jersey in banning horseshoe crabbing for 2 years. The horseshoe crab's egg production is critical to the declining population of Red Knots that migrate along the eastern seaboard. Commercial fishing has dramatically depleted horseshoe crabs; therefore, Red Knots have suffered as well.
