[Birdtalk] Odds and ends

Hi all,

After not having a single Stellar's Jay at my parents in Olympus Cove last
year (when they had been regular the previous 5 winters), I have seen quite
a few (6+ yesterday) over the last few weeks.

Also, I had several small flocks of Red Crossbills fly over while I was
skiing near Gunsight Pass (on the ridge between Albion Basin and Collin's
Gulch) at Alta Ski Resort today.  I don't think I heard one in all the
time I spent skiing both in and out of resorts last winter, which I
was certainly surprised by.
