More specifics on the KBYU-FM broadcast for Friday.
The program is "Thinking Aloud" and it does air at 11:00 a.m. Friday
Nov. 10. Here is KBYU's promotional text:
/Show For Friday, November 10, 2006 Utah Birding
Have you ever tried persuading someone that snipes really exist? High
school and college students often engage not only in snipe-hunting
pranks, but in bona fide bird watching assignments that come as part of
their coursework. Even at that, few are lucky enough to locate what (in
something of a misnomer) is called the common snipe. In this episode of
Thinking Aloud, Marcus Smith interviews three Utahans with an uncommon
interest in birding. What's behind their passion? Why do they do it? And
if you had been out in the field with binoculars this year, what might
you have seen, common or otherwise? (From

You can listen to it on your computer, and if you're new to "streaming"
it is pretty cool, and relatively easy to use. (Ya, that's what "they"
always say, right?) Here's what to do to listen to the live stream:
First navigate your browser to http://www.classical89.org/streaming/
then select one of the four options Windows, QuickTime, Real Audio, or
MP3. (Use the MP3 if you have iTunes or WinAmp. If you want to download
the "basic" and free version of WinAmp <http://www.winamp.com/player/>,
which is what I use and prefer...) That's all there is to it, as long
as you have one of these audio players installed on your computer.
There are also options for Podcasting, which you can access at:
http://byub.org/podcast/
Note that the Thinking Aloud program is on "Classical 89", not BYU Radio.
If "streaming" or "podcasting" is not for you, then of course you can
still listen to it on either 89.1 FM or 89.5 FM.
Happy Birding,
Matthew Wallace
