Hello Everyone
I am working with representatives from Federal, State and Non
Governmental Organizations to design a population survey of Snowy
Plovers in Utah. A goal of the project is to develop a population
estimate for this secretive shorebird. In order to do this we need to
know where to count.
We would like to request documented sightings of SNPL (time, date,
specific locations etc.) at sites other than Great Salt Lake and it's
surrounding wetlands. We are particularly interested in sightings
during the breeding season (April - July). For example there could be
places at Utah Lake or Mona Reservoir where SNPL breed. Perhaps you
have buried in your notes sightings of SNPL at locations not widely
known. Please email your information to me so that we can design an
effective survey.
Thanks
JFC
