[Birdtalk] Emigration Canyon breeders

Hi all,

Here are a list of birds submitted to ebird that I heard while biking up
Emigration Canyon yesterday.  I heard pretty much all the expected breeders
except for Virginia's Warbler...

California Quail     1 - calling at the base of canyon
Mourning Dove     X
Broad-tailed Hummingbird     X
Northern Flicker     1
Dusky Flycatcher     1 - singing
Plumbeous Vireo     1 - singing near the cafe
Warbling Vireo     X - many singing
Western Scrub-Jay     X
Black-billed Magpie     X
Violet-green Swallow     2
Black-capped Chickadee     X
House Wren     1 - singing in the cottonwood patch to the south of the pass
Ruby-crowned Kinglet     1
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher     X
Swainson's Thrush     1 - singing along the creek just below where the road
leaves the creek
Hermit Thrush     1 - singing on a north facing hillside - well up from the
road
American Robin     X
European Starling     X
Cedar Waxwing     4 - near the cafe
Orange-crowned Warbler     2 - a couple singing on the approach up to the
pass
Yellow Warbler     X
Yellow-rumped Warbler     X
MacGillivray's Warbler     3 - a couple singing on the approach up to the
pass
Western Tanager     X - singing throughout the canyon
Green-tailed Towhee     1  - heard from the pass
Spotted Towhee     5
Chipping Sparrow     X
Fox Sparrow     2 - 1 singing at the up canyon stop light
Song Sparrow     X
Black-headed Grosbeak     X - many singing
Lazuli Bunting     X - singing throughout the canyon
Brown-headed Cowbird     X
Bullock's Oriole     X
House Finch     X
Lesser Goldfinch     2 - heard calling just up canyon from Ruth's Diner
American Goldfinch     1 - singing lower in the canyon
House Sparrow     X
