[Birdtalk] Common Loon--Farmington Bay

I was with a group of School children out at Farmington Bay, when we got a  
report of the Common Loon being there. What Fun. I have never seen a Loon of 
any  species. As soon as I was through teaching. I headed out to the "egg  
island", and low and behold there it was!
It's an immature Common Loon. What a great sighting. Drive  up onto the top 
of the island, and climb the small slope on the North side.  Scan the small 
stream outlet just below the island. It was lazily treading water  in that 
stream, kind-of Northwest, when I saw it.
I'm headed to Alaska the end of June. I know I will see some wonderful  Loons 
there, but it was exciting to see this one right there in the Bay.
